Rick Shrier has spent over three decades working in financial services.  He specializes in helping individuals and families preserve and grow their assets, increase income, reduce tax liability, and help ensure that their money lasts their lifetime or even longer.

Rick’s career began in the financial services business in 1980. Forming Shrier Associates in 1988, his philosophy has been to make money with his clients instead of from his clients. His lifelong objective has been to earn the loyalty and respect of his clients by helping them achieve their financial goals. His job is to help them develop strong financial plans and to diligently monitor changes in the market and the economy.

Back in 1994, he forged ahead in the financial services industry by becoming a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). A Registered Investment Advisor has a fiduciary responsibility to put the needs of the client ahead of the needs of the firm.

His expertise includes designing and improving retirement plans that enhance the benefits of owners of small businesses. He is passionate about building investment strategies that are not only low cost but have a high probability of meeting his clients lifetime goals, and aspirations. His community involvement includes being Past-President and Board Member of Congregation B’nai Shalom of Westborough, MA, member of the Investment committee and Board of Trustees of the Union for Reform Judaism.

Rick’s education includes Connecticut College, AB Economics, 1980.  Rick holds both the Chartered Life Underwriter designation and Chartered Financial Consultant designation from The American College, Bryn Mawr, PA and became a Licensed Life Insurance Advisor in 2002.

Robert (Bob) Tamkin, who joined Shrier Associates in 2002, has been helping high net worth individuals and families develop wealth transfer strategies and income tax solutions to leverage wealth transfers to heirs and charities for over two decades.

As a Licensed Insurance Adviser, Bob offers policy owners and trustees ongoing objective life insurance policy analysis, purchase recommendations and property management services to optimize the return on invested capital in insurance policies.

He is able to provide insurance advisory services for a fee; a service that commission based agents and brokers are legally prohibited from doing in Massachusetts and many other states.

Bob holds both the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) Professional Designations, and a Masters of Science Degree in Management (MSM) from The American College, Bryn Mawr, PA.
